About Me

My name is Zerry Hogan. I was born in Cape Canaveral, FL, approximately 20 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center. From a young age I knew that I wanted to work as a software engineer in AI and Space. My idols growing up were people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and I wanted to do what they did.

I started programming from a young age and when I was 13 or 14 years old I started a small web development company cleverly named Zerry's Website that built websites from local businesses in my hometown of Florida. At the age of 16 me and my family decided to pack our bags and move to Houston, Texas for better opportunity.

I finished my junior and senior year of high school in Houston, graduating in the top 5% of my school and receiving my IB Diploma. After high school, I packed my bags again and moved to College Station, Texas to attend Texas A&M university to study Economics with a minor in Computer Science.

After 2 and a half years at Texas A&M, I realized that I did not enjoy economics and spent most of my time studying my computer science courses. I made the decision to drop out of A&M and continue self-teaching computer science through online courses, books and YouTube.

Almost 6 years later I have been developing professionally for mostly startups and have worked on a wide variety of products ranging from Content Management Systems to AI Data Labeling platforms to Space Education Training platforms. My end goal is to ultimately start my own tech company which is why I have mostly worked for startups and will continue to do so.

However, I'm not just a programmer! I'm also a hobby enthusiast and have lots of different hobbies at different times. I do Muay Thai, pole dance, hit the gym, collect hip hop records, hike every weekend and I really enjoy a nice glass of whiskey.
